“Will you still love me when I shine… from words but not from beauty…” ~Lana Del Rey.
These lyrics hit home for me over and over again, yet as the days go on, the answer becomes more clear.
Who is ‘out there’ that I am looking for to show me that I am worthy of being loved?
Every perceived person is a reflection of what apparent conflict or harmony is going on in my own mind. Contrary to popular belief, beauty doesn’t come from a body. Beauty is beyond the body, beyond any sense of what is in this physical realm.
Love is all there is.
Love is all we are.
This body will disintegrate into the nothingness from which it came, but what will always remain is the Awareness of that which I Am. God loves each and everyone one of us and sees only innocence and purity. In my own experience, these song lyrics have been a reminder to look within to God, rather than looking to a perceived man for validating my self worth.
